Why Is SEO An Ongoing Process?

ongoingThere are lots of reasons why SEO is an ongoing process, but I’m going to talk about the biggy…content.

Google loves websites that are updated regularly with unique and informative content.  It likes websites to be useful and informative to users, if a site is updated regularly with fresh, unique content it will rank higher over one that just sits there doing nothing.  If a site is not updated regularly, Google will not see it as a useful resource to its users and you will not be rewarded.

“If your website sits there doing nothing, it will not be rewarded”.

Adding a blog on to the main domain of your website is a great way of updating your site regularly and adding lots of unique content by making regular posts.  All of this extra content is great for the search engines, targeting keyphrases and great for your visitors too.  It will give them a reason to stay on your site and return again and again.

If you can become an information resource in your niche, people will come to you for information, advice and tips.  You will need to devote time to writing really good content with articles that your visitors will want to read.  If you create brilliant posts, people will want to link to them meaning the links will come to you, thus expanding your link profile at the same time.

This is one of the reasons why SEO is an ongoing process, if you want to rank well then you have to update your site regularly with good, unique content.

SEO doesn’t just happen overnight, it can take a lot of time and effort to get the results you want, but if you want to reap the rewards of getting lots of targeted traffic to your website, then it is definitely worth doing.
